How to Start Your Morning off Right in Phuket

Phuket is a place for early risers. If you’re a night owl and a late riser, you might want to head elsewhere. Phuket is all about those 6am wake ups and for a good reason too.

Living on a paradise island like Phuket, you’re surrounded by nature’s beauty. We are lucky to be surrounded by such natural beauty, so it’s up to us to take advantage of it. By 8am, the streets are bustling and everyone is getting about their day. So we like to wake up extra early to avoid the rush and get in that peaceful quiet time before the hustle and bustle begins.

If you’re here visiting Phuket, here are some of our favourite ways to enjoy those sacred Phuket mornings and really make the most of your trip.

1. Beach Walk
One of the best parts about being on a Thai island is that you’re surrounded by stunning beaches. From Friendship, Naiharn, Yanui or Ao Sane beach, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Get your shoes off, feel the sand in between your toes and clear your mind with an early morning beach walk. Plus if you’re a dog lover, you’ll love this walking route even more.

2. Ocean Swim
There’s nothing better than jumping out of bed, putting on your bathers and heading straight into the sea. Immersing yourself in water, floating along the waves and swimming against the current has got to be the most invigorating way to start your day. Remember stay safe and always swim with a lifeguard around, between the red and yellow flags!

3. Big Buddha
If you’re the type of person that feels most energetic in the morning, then getting a workout in during the early AM will serve you just fine. Whether it’s a hill walk or intermittent sprinting, heading up to Big Buddha for sunrise is a special way to bring in the new day.

4. Promthep Cape
If you prefer to take things a little slower in the morning, heading to a quiet spot like Promthep Cape for some mindful meditation will clear your mind and get you in the right headspace to continue on with your day.

5. Coconut Shake
Probably our most favourite way to start the morning is with a cold fresh coconut or blended coconut shake from our Friendship Beach bar. It’s sweet, creamy and refreshing… just what you need in the tropical sun!
