Raw Vegan Food For Beginners

For those of you who have ever visited us before, you’ll know that we offer an entire raw vegan menu at our Supernatural restaurant here at Friendship Beach. This menu is a massive hit with veggie and vegan people, but for people that have never experienced vegan food before, it’s a slight shock to the system. So we’re going to talk you through some of our favourite dishes here and why we love them!

First up is our absolute favourite, the raw Pad Thai. This dish ticks all the boxes as it embodies all the delicious authentic flavours of a traditional Pad Thai, but with a healthy twist. The chilli, lime, coriander and peanuts all complement each other so well to give you the perfect balance of fresh and spice. We use raw carrots and bean sprouts as the base for the noodles to make it hearty yet nourishing. The tofu is there to fill you up and give you added protein for a more balanced and nutritious meal.

Our raw vegan lasagne is another one our favourites (and for our guests too). Putting raw vegan in the same sentence as lasagne may not seem to make much sense, but trust us, it’s a match made in heaven! We use zucchini slices in exchange for the pasta slices, and make our own unique cashew ‘cheese’ sauce… you wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference!

The reason why we make these dishes raw and vegan is to add more nutrients back into our meals, whilst still being able to enjoy our old classic favourites. By not cooking or heating our food, this maximises the nutrients and makes sure that all the goodness in the veggies remain, without being destroyed from heat.
